Every masterclass at YAH will be small: a teacher and a handful of people, seated informally, with notebooks, water and shade. That intimacy is what makes the format work, and it is also what makes it unrepeatable. Six people hear something that a hundred never will.
Conversations From YAH is our attempt to share a little of that without breaking it. With the permission of everyone in the room, and only then, we will record selected sessions and publish them here as edited transcripts and, where it suits, as audio. Not the whole session, and never the parts that were said in confidence. The moments that could stand on their own.
What to expect
The subjects follow the masterclass programme: creativity, entrepreneurship, architecture, food, art, design, leadership, wellbeing. Expect founders talking about the decision they got wrong, architects explaining why a roof is the way it is, cooks on what the land gives in February, practitioners on breath and sleep. Expect questions from the group as well as answers, because the questions are usually the better part.
Each conversation will be published with the date, the place on the estate where it happened and the names of the people who agreed to be named. Some will not, and that is fine. The series is not a showcase. It is a record.
Come with a question. Leave with a new perspective.
When it starts
The series begins when the first pavilion is open and the first group has sat under the oak. Until then, this page is a promise rather than an archive. If you would like to be told when the first conversation is published, register your interest and we will write to you once, when it is worth it.
